Food Incubation Summit 2021


 

The Food Incubation Summit 2021 will be held on two event platforms: Filo and Topia. Like in a traditional conference, you can think of Filo as the main auditorium and breakout rooms and Topia as the exhibit hall and reception areas.

 

On this page we have collected everything you need to know about both of them, so read carefully.

TLDR

  • Use desktop or laptop and Google Chrome as your browser.

  • Complete the tech check by logging in to both platforms before the event begins. Make sure you have all your camera, headset, and microphone drivers and updates completed before Wednesday morning.

  • Make sure you have a strong internet connection (Wired/Ethernet cable connection is preferred).

  • Use the email you registered your ticket with to access both Topia and Filo.

  • Use Filo to access the main event sessions, agenda, daily activities, breakout rooms, and familiarize yourself with sponsors and mentors.

  • Navigate through Filo via the left menu panel.

  • Visit the Help Desk in case of any issues at the event.

  • Use Topia for networking, 1:1 mentoring, and lunch & learn sessions.

  • Use arrow keys or mouse to navigate the Topia world, and control/command keys to zoom in and out.

  • Access the World Map, Activities and Portals through the Globe icon in Topia.

 

Technical requirements

 

For the best virtual event experience make sure you have the following:

  • A desktop or laptop (do not join via mobile phone or tablet)

  • Google Chrome as your browser 

  • A strong internet connection (wired ethernet preferred over wifi)

  • A decent webcam - laptop webcams are usually sufficient but if you have access to a dedicated webcam please use it.

  • A decent mic - you can use your computer mic, but the mic on your headset or a dedicated mic is preferred.

  • A headset or pair of earbuds (optional but highly recommended)

  • Double check that your camera, headset, and microphone drivers and updates completed before Wednesday morning

 

 

Filo


Like a traditional conference, you can think of Filo as the main auditorium. All the event sessions will be held here.

Logging into Filo

You should receive an email from filo.co in your inbox of the email you registered your ticket with. Please check your junk mail if you don't see it. You will be prompted to create a login and password. Please note that when you first login it will take a bit of time to load.

 

 

Moving around Filo

Once you log into your Filo account, you will be able to access all the main information from the left panel. Have a look at the agenda, access daily activities and breakout rooms, familiarize yourself with sponsors and mentors - just click on the menu items and start exploring.

We recommend you to log in early to get to know the platform.

 

 

Experience any issues?

 

In case you experience any problems during the event, the “Help Desk” button will connect you to our support team. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

Topia

 

Think of Topia as the exhibit hall of the physical event. The networking, 1:1 mentoring, and lunch & learn sessions will be held in Topia, where we have built a fun and interactive Summit World for you to explore.

 

Accessing Topia

When accessing Topia, you will be prompted to create a login and passwordUse the email you registered your ticket with to create an account. Please note that the Topia world take a while to load during the first login.

The Summit World

The Summit World is a wondrous place with many different areas of engagement. The This World menu will help orient you to the world that you are in and provide an overview of things to do.

 

 

 

Summit World Map

Click on the Globe icon             on the toolbar and choose World Map to get a birds eye view of the entire world. It is a snapshot; it is not interactive and may not reflect updates.

 

Moving around the Topia World (+short-keys)

Once you're in Topia, just click to move in the direction you'd like to go. You can also use the arrow keys to move.

 

In order to zoom-in/zoom-out on the world map, use Ctrl+/Ctrl- (for Windows devices) or Cmd+/Cmd- (for IOS devices).

Communicating with others in Topia

 

When you get close to others, you will be able to see and hear them (up to 9 other participants/ guests). To leave a conversation, simply walk away, just as if you were mingling at a live event.

 

If you are in a world and connect with someone via video, you have the option to send a private message by hovering over their video. Once you exchange messages with someone in Topia, you can stay in touch in the future even if you aren't connected via video 😊.

You can use the chat in the main sessions to coordinate meet ups with attendees in a specific location on the map in Topia.

 

 

How to update your audio or video input?

If you want to change the audio or video source while in Topia, click on the Preferences icon              at the top of the toolbar on the left side of your screen and choose your preferred microphone and/or camera input.

 

Share a screen in Topia

When you are connected to someone else in Topia, you have an option to share your screen with them by hovering over the middle of your own video feed and pressing the Share Your Screen button that appears to the left.

 

You can exit screen sharing by pressing the Stop Sharing button at the bottom center of your screen.

 

Activities

Click on the Globe icon            on the toolbar and choose Activities to find the location of upcoming activities happening inside the Summit World.

Remember to drop by and visit our amazing sponsors' booths in Topia for fun and giveaways!

Portals

Click on the Globe icon             on the toolbar and choose Portals to discover the places within the Summit world where you can teleport to.
